A Little Shy at First
A little while ago, I was invited to pitch CyberBuddy at Bamboo Detroit, and to be honest—I was a little shy at first. It's always a bit nerve-wracking getting up in front of a crowd, especially when you don't know how people will react to your idea.
Finding My Voice in the Room
But once I started talking, it actually felt really good. The room was full of energy, and what really stood out to me was how many women—especially moms—asked thoughtful questions and connected with CyberBuddy. Hearing that what I'm building really resonated with them reminded me why I'm doing this in the first place.
The Power of Real Conversations
It's always one of my favorite parts—answering questions and having real conversations. That back-and-forth helps me grow, and it means a lot when people take the time to engage with what I'm building.
Winning the People's Choice Award
After all the founders presented, everyone in the audience got to vote for the People's Choice Award… and I was so surprised and grateful when CyberBuddy won! As a prize, I received a Dell laptop for my business—which is going to help so much as I continue building.
The Importance of Showing Up
This experience reminded me that even when you feel nervous or unsure, just showing up and sharing your story can lead to amazing things. I'm really thankful for the support and for the chance to be part of a space like Bamboo Detroit.
